BAKED MACARONI AND CHEESE 
3 c. elbow macaroni or ready cut macaroni
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. flour
2 1/2 c. milk
1 lb. extra sharp Cheddar cheese, sliced thin
Cracker crumbs
Dash of salt and pepper
Cracker crumbs

Melt butter. Add flour, salt and pepper. Mix. Then add 1/2 cup milk. Cook on medium heat until it starts to thicken. Add remaining milk and cook until sauce begins to boil, stirring all the time. Remove sauce from stove.

Cook macaroni according to package directions. Grease 3 quart casserole dish. Put layers of cooked macaroni and cheese in casserole, ending with cheese. Pour white sauce over macaroni and cheese. Sprinkle with cracker crumbs and dot with butter. Bake 1 hour in 350 degree oven.
