1 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. finely ground filberts
1/2 c. currant (or red) jelly

Combine butter, sugar and flour. Mix. Add nuts. Shape into balls. Chill 3 hours or more. Slice. Bake 10 minutes, 350 degrees. Put cookies together with jelly. Put powdered sugar frosting on top of cookie sandwich. Can sprinkle with nuts. 3 1/2 dozen cookies. Nice for holiday time.
