ITALIAN BREAD 
5 lbs. flour
3 pkgs. dried yeast
3 c. water
1/2 stick butter, softened
Pinch of salt

In a very large bowl, place flour, yeast, softened butter and salt. Add 3 cups of water (lukewarm) to start. Mix with dough hooks or by hand until it becomes a soft ball. Add additional water, if necessary to make the dough elastic and additional flour should be kneaded into mixture until manageable. Cover and place in warm area to rise 2 hours, then knead on floured board. Cut into 5 equal loaves and place in greased and floured pans. Cover. Let rise to desired size. Then bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour and 45 minutes or until desired brownness. Yield: 5 loaves.
