MARSHMALLOW FILLED CHOCOLATE
COOKIES
 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk

Cream butter and sugar until light. Beat in egg and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk to first mixture, beat until smooth.

Drop by level tablespoonsful onto baking sheet covered with foil. Bake in hot oven at 450 degrees for 7 minutes. Cool on racks and put together back to back with filling.

FILLING:

Cream 1/2 cup butter with 1 cup confectioners' sugar. Blend in 1 cup marshmallow creme and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. If too thick add a few drops of milk. Makes 3 dozen double cookies.
