MOM'S SWEET RIBS | |
3 or 4 lbs. spareribs (pork) 1 lg. onion, sliced and made into rings Garlic salt to taste Pepper to taste 1 lb. box brown sugar Broiler pan, lined with aluminum foil and sprayed with Pam Heat oven to 425 degrees. Place ribs upside down on broiler pan; sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper. Distribute onion rings over ribs. Sprinkle 1/2 box (or less, if desired) brown sugar over ribs and onions. Add water to pan to cover bottom of pan (beer may be used in place of water). Bake in hot oven for 30 minutes. Turn ribs right side up and sprinkle with remaining sugar (less, if desired). Bake for an additional 30 minutes or until toasty brown. Adjust heat if browning too quickly or not browning enough. Beef ribs can also be used, but cook slower and longer to be sure they are tender. |
