MEATBALLS WITH MOM'S SPAGHETTI
SAUCE
 
1 lb. ground beef
1 lg. can tomatoes
1 can tomato paste
2 c. water
1 1/2 tbsp. oregano
1 tbsp. parsley
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. red pepper
Salt and pepper to taste

In stewing pot, put chopped tomatoes and all remaining ingredients. For meat sauce, add the browned ground beef and simmer at least 3 hours. You may have to add more water but not during the last hour of cooking.

MEATBALLS:

3/4 lb. ground beef
3/4 lb. ground pork
1 tbsp. oregano
1 tbsp. parsley
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 egg
Approximately 1/4 c. bread crumbs
Salt and pepper to taste

Mix all ingredients and form into balls. Cook and brown well in pan or if adding to Mom's spaghetti sauce, cook the sauce one hour longer. Top with freshly ground Romano cheese. Serves 4.
