DRESSING FOR LETTUCE OR ENDIVE 
4 strips bacon
1 or 2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. vinegar
1 small onion

Cut bacon in small pieces and fry to crisp. Drain and cool. Mix sugar and egg and beat together. Add water, flour, salt and vinegar. Blend with rotary blender and add mixture to bacon. Cook and stir over low heat until thickened. Add small onion to dressing before placing on the greens.
