CHUCK WAGON SKILLET DINNER | |
1 lb. ground chuck 2 tbsp. butter Dash pepper 1 c. chopped celery 1/2 c. sliced ripe olives (optional) 2 c. med. sized noodles, uncooked #303 can stewed tomatoes 1/4 c. onions, chopped 1 tsp. salt 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese 1/4 c. water In large, covered skillet, melt butter. Saute onions until tender. Add meat, salt, pepper. Brown slowly. In layers add (in this order) cheese, celery, olives and noodles. (DO NOT STIR.) Pour on tomatoes and water. Cover and bring to steam. Turn heat to low, simmer for 30-35 minutes. DO NOT REMOVE COVER DURING THIS TIME. Serves 4. Do not cook noodles first. Covered skillet allows noodles to cook in steam. Be sure heat is turned low during this time. |
