KENTUCKY JAM CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. each: ground cloves, cinnamon and allspice
1/3 c. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
About 1/3 c. coffee
2 c. strawberry jam
Kentucky Jam Cake Frosting

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine dry ingredients; add alternately to creamed mixture with milk and coffee. Stir in jam. Bake in 3 greased 8 inch layer pans at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. Do not overbake. Cool and frost.

KENTUCKY JAM CAKE FROSTING:

1/2 c. butter
2 1/3 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. milk
1 1/2 c. seedless raisins
2 c. candied cherries
2 c. chopped pecans
1 1/2 c. flaked coconut

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy; add eggs and beat well. Add milk and cook in top of double boiler until thick, stirring constantly. Add all fruits, nuts and coconut and cook a few minutes longer. Spread this mixture between layers and on top and sides of cake.
