CANDY YAMS 
2 tbsp. water
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
8 yams (med. size)

For candy sauce, put all ingredients except yams into small saucepan. Boil for 3 minutes. Parboil yams in salted water for 30 minutes. Peel and quarter. Place flat sides up in baking dish (9 x 13). Cover with sauce and cook in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes, basting occasionally.
