ICEBOX SLICED MOLASSES COOKIES 
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg, unbeaten
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Put molasses and shortening in large saucepan. Heat until shortening is melted. Remove and stir in sugar. Cool. Stir in eggs.

Combine dry ingredients. Stir into molasses mixture. Form batter into a roll. Refrigerate until well chilled. Cut very thin. Bake at 375 degrees, 10 minutes.
