BAKED BEANS 
2 (16 oz.) pkg. dry navy beans
1/2 c. dark molasses
1/3 c. packed dark brown sugar
4 tsp. salt
4 tsp. mustard (dry)
4 slices bacon, cut into 1 inch pieces or 1/4 lb. salt pork diced
2 med. sized onion, chopped

Makes 14 servings.

Rinse beans with running cold water. In 8-quart Dutch oven over high heat, heat beans and 12 cups water to boiling; cook 3 minutes. Remove Dutch oven from heat, cover and let stand 1 hour. Drain and rinse beans.

Return beans to Dutch oven; add 7 1/2 cups water. Over high heat heat to boiling. Cover and bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour. Stir in molasses and remaining ingredients; cover continue baking for 1 hour stirring occasionally. Remove cover. Bake 15 to 30 minutes longer.
