MOCK LASAGNA CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. hamburger 1 (51 oz.) can (2 c.) tomato sauce 1/2 c. water 1/2 tsp. garlic salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed 1 (7 oz.) pkg. macaroni, cooked and drained 1 1/2 c. cream-style cottage cheese 1 1/2 c. shredded American cheese (6 oz.) (also cheddar cheese is good) In skillet, brown the meat; drain off excess fat. Add tomato sauce, water, garlic salt, pepper and basil. Cover; simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. In a 2-quart casserole layer half each macaroni, cottage cheese, shredded cheese, and meat sauce. Repeat layers. Bake, uncovered, in 375 degree oven for 30 minutes. Makes 6-8 servings. |
