LASAGNA 
1 lb. Polish sausage, chopped
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
6 lasagna noodles
3/4 lb. mozzarella cheese, sliced
1 (12-15 oz.) cottage cheese
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt

Cook sausage, ground beef and onion until well browned. Drain grease. Add garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, sugar and tomato sauce. Bring to boiling, reduce heat and simmer, covered for 20 minutes.

In meantime, boil 3 quarts water and cook noodles; rinse and drain on paper towels.

Combine cottage cheese, egg and 1/2 teaspoon salt; mix well.

In 13 x 9 inch pan layer 1/2 meat mixture, 3 noodles to cover, 1/2 cheese mixture and 1/2 of mozzarella. Then layer with remaining noodles, meat sauce, cheese mixture and top with mozzarella slices. Cover with foil. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake 25 minutes longer.
