OLD FASHIONED MOLASSES COOKIES LIKE GRANDMA MADE | |
1 c. packed brown sugar 1 c. molasses 1 c. Crisco shortening 2 eggs 2 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 2/3 c. hot water 4 to 5 c. flour (about 4 1/2 works) 1/4 tsp. salt 3 tsp. ginger 3 tsp. cinnamon 3 tsp. cloves Combine all ingredients in large mixing bowl. Drop by spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees approximately 10 minutes. They split on top when they are done. These are the easiest cookies to make and the recipe makes a generous amount. I love these cookies. They really have a warm ginger taste. Store in a tin. |
