BANANA WALNUT BREAD 
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. mashed bananas
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped walnuts

Mix sugar, shortening, and eggs; beat hard until light. Add mashed bananas. Sift flour with baking powder, salt and soda. Stir into creamed mixture, beating until smooth. Add walnuts.

Pour into greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes or until loaf tests done. Cool on rack. Makes one loaf.
