LEMON LOAF 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
Grated rind of 1 lemon
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk

GLAZE:

Juice of 1/2 lemon
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. sugar

Cream shortening, beat in sugar, add eggs, beating well. Stir in rind. Mix flour, salt and baking powder and blend in alternately with milk, mixing well. Bake in loaf pan 50-60 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven.

Bring to boil lemon juice, sugar and butter; pour over top and let cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely before slicing.
