LEMON PEPPER SANDWICH LOAF | |
1 loaf unsliced bread 1/2 c. lemon pepper butter, softened 1 tbsp. spicy mustard 2 tsp. poppy seeds 8 slices Jack or Swiss cheese 8 slices bacon, crispy cooked & crumbled LEMON PEPPER BUTTER: 1 lb. butter 1/4 c. chives 1 1/2 tsp. grated lemon peel 2 tbsp. lemon juice 1/2 tsp. black pepper Cut bread into 9 slices, cut through but not to bottom. Combine lemon pepper, butter, mustard and poppy seeds; mix well. Set aside 3 tablespoons of mixture. Spread remainder on all cut surfaces of bread. Place 1 slice cheese in each cut; sprinkle bacon over cheese. Spread reserved lemon pepper butter on top and sides of loaf. Bake in ungreased baking sheet at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. |
