LEMON LOAF 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 2/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
Grated outside of lemon
1/2 c. nuts (opt.)

Blend shortening, sugar and eggs. Add remaining ingredients. Put in 9" x 4 1/2" bread pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove pan while warm. Prick holes in top of bread with toothpick.

GLAZE:

Lemon juice from 1 lemon
1/4 c. sugar

Put on bread.
