MERINGUE DESSERT 
3 egg whites
1 c. sugar
8 white cracker squares
1 c. nuts (usually walnuts)
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat egg whites until stiff, adding sugar while beating. Stir in crushed crackers, coarsely chopped nuts, and vanilla. Pour into buttered 9-inch square pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cut warm and serve topped with ice cream and strawberries or raspberries.
