OLD FASHIONED BREAD PUDDING | |
6 slices day old white bread 2 tbsp. melted butter 2 tbsp. sugar, plus 1/2 c. 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. seedless raisins 4 eggs 2 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla Preheat oven to 350. Grease 1/2 quart baking dish. Cut crust from bread, brush with butter and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Cut into quarters and arrange in layers in baking dish. Sprinkle each layer with raisins. Beat eggs thoroughly and stir in 1/2 cup sugar, milk and eggs. Pour over bread and raisins. Put in pan with 1 inch water in bottom; bake 55 minutes to 1 hour or until knife comes out clean; serve warm or chilled. |
