1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 med. green pepper, chopped
1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up
1 c. grated cheddar cheese
1 (4 oz.) can green chilies
Tortilla chips

Brown ground beef with onion. Add green pepper, chili powder, salt, pepper, tomato sauce and tomatoes. Layer 1/2 crushed tortilla chips in bottom of greased 8" pan. Place 1/2 of meat mixture in pan and sprinkle with 1/2 cup cheese. Add another layer of crushed chips and top with remaining meat mixture. Wreath top with whole chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 20 minutes. Top with remaining cheese and bake another 10 minutes. Yield: 4 to 6.
