AIR BUNS 
1/2 c. lukewarm water
1 tsp. white sugar
1 env. yeast
2 tbsp. vinegar
9-10 c. flour
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
3 1/2 c. lukewarm water

Combine 1/2 cup water and 1 teaspoon sugar, add yeast. Let stand 10 minutes in a warm place.

In large mixing bowl, put sugar, shortening, salt, vinegar and water. Add risen yeast and flour. Mix and knead thoroughly, then place in a greased bowl. Cover with cloth. Let rise in warm place 2 hours. Punch down. Let rise one hour, punch down. Form into buns the size of an egg. Put on greased cookie sheet far apart. Cover, let rise 2 hours. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 15 minutes.
