BBQ TERIYAKI BEEF 
1 c. soy sauce
1/4 c. water
1 c. brown sugar
3-4 garlic cloves, minced fine
1 tsp. fresh ginger root, minced fine
1 tsp. sesame oil
1 lb. flank steak

Combine first 6 ingredients. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Lay flank steak flat on cutting board. Make 1/2 inch scores diagonally on both surfaces of the flank steak with knife. Pound both sides of meat with meat tenderizer. Slice meat diagonally (approximately 1/4 inch thick and 1-1 1/2 inches wide.) Add 3/4 of the marinade to the meat and marinate overnight.

Skewer meat on bamboo sticks. Grill on BBQ until cooked, approximately 5 minutes each side. (Baste with marinade while cooking). May substitute boneless chicken breast for flank steak.
