VANILLA PUDDING 
1/3 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/8 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
2 egg yolks, beaten
2 tbsp. butter
2 tsp. vanilla

Blend sugar, starch and salt. Combine milk and eggs, gradually stir in mixture. Cook medium, stirring until thickens. Boil 1 minute, remove. Stir in butter and vanilla. For chocolate, increase sugar to 1/2 cup and stir in 1/3 cup cocoa into sugar mixture. Omit butter.
