CHERRY BARS 
1 box Duncan Hines fudge cake mix
21 oz. can cherry pie filling
1 tsp. almond or vanilla extract
2 beaten eggs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease (with shortening, not oil) and flour a 15 x 10 inch pan. In large bowl, combine first 4 ingredients. Stir by hand until well mixed. Pour in pan. Bake 20-30 minutes or until toothpick in center comes out clean.

FROSTING:

1 c. sugar
5 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. milk
1 c. (6 oz.) chocolate pieces

In small saucepan, combine sugar, butter and milk. Boil, stirring constantly for 1 minute. Remove from heat, stir in chocolate pieces until smooth. Pour over bars.
