PECAN TARTS 
PASTRY:

1 stick butter, softened
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 c. flour

Cream above ingredients and roll out thin. Cut to fit small muffin tins and the following filling.

FILLING:

1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, separated
1 c. dates, chopped
1 c. pecans, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla
Confectioners' sugar

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks, dates, nuts and vanilla. Fold in beaten egg whites. Bake about 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Sift confectioners' sugar over top. Makes 35 to 40 in small muffin tins. Will keep 6 weeks in tight container.
