TRULY GOOD GOULASH | |
2 lbs. sirloin steak (cut in 1 inch cubes) 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper 3 tbsp. butter 1 lg. onion (chopped fine) 2 c. beef broth 1 clove garlic 1 tbsp. paprika 4 green peppers (cut in rings) 4 tomatoes (cut in rings) 4 lg. potatoes (sliced) Season beef with salt and pepper. Saute onion in butter; add beef and brown on all sides. Add broth and chopped garlic. Simmer for 1 1/4 hours. Add and arrange on top in layers, potatoes, green pepper rings and tomato rings (in that order). Sprinkle top with paprika. Cover and continue cooking for 30 minutes until tender. Serve on top of hot buttered noodles. Stafford Family Favorite (the kids love it). |
