1 1/2 c. cream 3 c. flour 1 tbsp. baking powder 9 oz. butter FILLING: 15 oz. prunes 3 c. water 5 oz. sugar or 2/3 c. Cook prunes until soft. Remove stones, press prunes into pulp or chop fine. To make pastry, mix baking powder with flour and add to beaten cream. Mix and add the butter. Leave the pastry stand in a cold place to harden. Then roll on a floured board into sheet about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into circles or squares. Put a teaspoon of filling in the center of each piece, fold over and press the edges together. For square pieces turn all the corners to meet in the middle or split the corners and fold over every other strip to meet the centers. Brush with egg and bake in hot oven a few minutes. |
