BRUSSELS SPROUTS WITH WATER
CHESTNUTS
 
1/2 lb. chestnuts
2 c. fresh sprouts

Cut gash on flat side of each nut, cover with boiling water and boil 20 minutes. Drain, shell, and peel off brown skin, while still warm. Trim outside leaves off sprouts, wash, cut gash in the ends, cook in small amount of salted water about 8 minutes. Drain.

Fill buttered baking dish with sprouts, chestnuts, salt, pepper, 2 tablespoons water. Cover. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
