MEATBALLS WITH SAUCE VERTE 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. bread crumbs
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. oil
1 (3 oz.) cream cheese
1/3 c. Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp. parsley
1 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 c. hot beef broth
1 tsp. cornstarch
2 c. cooked rice (hot)

Combine first 5 ingredients well. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls. Brown in the oil. Drain fat. Combine remaining ingredients listed to beef broth. Blend until smooth. Pour over meatballs. Simmer covered 15 minutes.

Stir 2 tablespoons water into cornstarch. Pour into sauce, cook, stirring constantly. Serve over beds of rice. Makes 4 servings.
