GINGER SNAPS 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/8 tsp. salt

Cream shortening. Add sugar, unbeaten egg and molasses. Sift dry ingredients together and add. Roll dough into small balls, dip top in sugar and place on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-9 minutes. Approximately 3 dozen.
