GINGER SNAPS 
3/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. white sugar
4 tbsp. molasses
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves

Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and molasses; mix well. Sift dry ingredients and add to this mixture. Form into balls and dip one side in sugar. Allowing space to spread, place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until flat.
