GINGER SNAP COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
4 tbsp. molasses
1 egg
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. ginger
1 1/2 tsp. cloves

Cream shortening and sugar; then add molasses and well beaten egg. Add sifted dry ingredients. Stir until well blended. Roll into balls and dip into granulated sugar. Place 2" apart on cookie sheet and bake in 350 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Do not over bake.
