5 FLAVOR CAKE - COLLEEN'S | |
1 c. butter 1/2 c. shortening 3 c. sugar 5 eggs, beaten 3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 c. milk 1 tsp. coconut extract 1 tsp. rum extract 1 tsp. butter extract 1 tsp. lemon extract 1 tsp. vanilla extract Cream butter, shortening, sugar and eggs. Combine flour and baking powder and add alternately with mix. Stir in extract. Bake in greased 10 inch tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Add "Six Flavor Glaze" if desired. Cool in pan 10 minutes before turning out. SIX FLAVOR GLAZE - COLLEEN'S 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. water 1 tsp. almond extract 1 tsp. coconut extract 1 tsp. rum extract 1 tsp. butter extract 1 tsp. lemon extract 1 tsp. vanilla extract Combine all ingredients in heavy saucepan. Bring to boil, stir until sugar is melted. Pour on one half of glaze while cake is in pan and other half when removed. |
