WHITE YEAST BREAD
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 c. water, warmed
2 c. milk, scalded
1/4 c. butter
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
6 c. flour

Use the warm water to dissolve yeast. Pour hot milk over butter, sugar and salt in a large mixing bowl. Cool to lukewarm and add yeast and 3 cups flour; beat well. Add remaining flour and mix well. Turn out on floured board and knead well until smooth and satiny. Put in greased bowl; turn once and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 1/2 hours. Punch down and let rise 30 minutes.

Makes 2 loaves or 12 biscuits.

Bake at 400°F for about 35 minutes.
