CABBAGE BEEF SOUP 
1 1/2 lbs. ground chuck
1 lg. can kidney beans
1 qt. (home canned tomatoes) or 2 (1 lb.) cans whole tomatoes or 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce plus 2 whole fresh tomatoes
1 can cream of celery soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 med. onion, chopped
2 tbsp. chili powder
2 tbsp. salt or to taste
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. sugar
2 qts. water
1/2 med. head of cabbage, chopped

In large saucepan saute ground chuck and drain off grease. Add kidney beans, tomatoes, celery soup, mushroom soup, chopped onion, chili powder, salt, pepper, sugar and water. Cook on medium heat 1 hour, add the chopped cabbage and simmer for another hour. Add water as needed.
