THUMBPRINT COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tbsp. milk
1/4 c. chopped chips

FILLING:

3/4 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp. butter
2 tbsp. corn syrup
1 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix butter, salt, vanilla and brown sugar until fluffy. Blend in flour, milk, and chips. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Make print with thumb. Bake 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and roll in powdered sugar.

FILLING:

Over hot water, melt chips with butter, stirring other ingredients. Place in center of cookies. Layer with waxed paper when thoroughly cool.
