THUMBPRINT COOKIES 
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. Crisco
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans (optional)

Blend sugar, butter, Crisco and eggs; add flour, 1 cup at a time. Add vanilla. Roll dough into walnut-size balls and put thumbprint in the middle. Bake at 325 degrees for 5 or 6 minutes. Frost with butter frosting or jelly.
