1 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. butter
2 eggs, beaten separately
1/2 c. sour milk
1 lb. dates
1 c. nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
Grated rind of 1 orange
1 1/2 c. flour

Cream sugar and butter, mix 1/2 flour, add soda, milk, etc. Bake in little more than moderate oven. Make orange filling and frost.
