ORANGE SAUCED CARROTS 
6 to 8 carrots, sliced 1/8 inch thick (about 3 c.)
1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
2/3 c. orange juice
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. ground ginger (optional)
Dash of ground cloves (optional)

In a 1 quart casserole, place sliced carrots and water. Microwave cook carrots, covered until tender (9 to 10 minutes). Drain well. Stir together brown sugar and cornstarch. Blend in orange juice, butter, salt, pepper, ginger and cloves. Stir mixture into carrots. Microwave cook, uncovered, 2 minutes. Stir and cook, uncovered, for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes more. Serves 4.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
