SPONGE CANDY 
1 c. sugar
1 c. dark corn syrup
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. baking soda

Combine syrup, sugar and vinegar in heavy pot. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Continue to cook until without stirring until 300 degrees on a candy thermometer.

Remove from heat. Quickly stir in soda and mix well. Pour into lightly butter 9 x 9 pan. Cut when cool.

We used to make sponge candy when I was little. So happy that I found this recipe. I made it and it turned out fine but I wish that I had a larger pan. I am going to make another batch went to store and purchased 13 x 9 pan. Melts in your mouth. Very happy with this recipe.
