LEMON SQUARES 
2 c. flour
1 c. butter
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
2 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
4 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. lemon juice

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting. Blend flour, butter and confectioners' sugar thoroughly. Press evenly in square pan, 15 x 10 x 1 inch. Bake 20 minutes. Beat remainder of ingredients together. Pour over cooked crust and bake 20 to 25 minutes more. DO NOT OVERBAKE. The filling puffs during baking but flattens when cooled. When still warm, sift confectioners' sugar over squares. Makes 32 squares.
