OATMEAL TOLL HOUSE COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. oatmeal
1 c. chopped nuts
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 pkg. Toll House chocolate chips

Mix in order given. Drop by teaspoonful on cookie sheet.

Bake at 350°F for 10 to 15 minutes.
