PIZZA WITH HOMEMADE CRUST AND SAUCE | |
CRUST: 1 pkg. yeast (about 1 tbsp.) Approx. 1 c. warm water Pinch of sugar 2 dashes of salt 2 tbsp. oil Flour SAUCE: 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 tsp. crushed garlic 1-2 tbsp. sugar Oregano to taste CRUST: Put warm water, sugar and yeast in large bowl. Let dissolve. Stir in salt and oil. Gradually add flour until it's a slightly sticky consistency for pizza crust. Do not let it rise. Thoroughly grease a large cookie sheet or pizza pan with Crisco using your bare hands. With greasy fingers pat crust onto pan. Next mix all ingredients for sauce adding as much or little oregano as you'd like. (I put 2 to 3 tablespoons.) Spread over crust and then top with your favorite toppings. |
