FRENCH CREAM ICING 
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar

Blend milk and flour until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly until very thick. Cool thoroughly.

Cream 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup sugar until light. Add milk and flour mixture and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat well.

Note: You can substitute sugar with 1 cup sifted powdered sugar. For flavor - substitute vanilla with 1/2 teaspoon almond. Make enough for a 13 x 9 inch pan.
