CANDIED POPCORN 
2 1/2 qts. popped corn
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. water
8 drops red food coloring
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. confectioners' sugar

Place popped corn in large greased bowl. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water. Cook and stir over low heat until sugar dissolves. Continue cooking, without stirring, to soft ball stage (238 degree). Stir in food coloring and vanilla. Pour syrup over popcorn, tossing to coat. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar; mix to separate kernels. Makes 2 1/2 quarts.
