GERMAN APPLE CRUMB CAKE 
3 c. flour
1 c. sugar
Pinch salt
1 c. butter
5 c. apples, sliced and peeled
2 tbsp. tapioca
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Combine flour, sugar, salt and butter with pastry blender. Set aside 1 1/2 cups of crumbs for top. Press remaining crumbs into bottom of a 13x9 inch pan.

Combine apples, sugar, tapioca and spices. Spread evenly over crust. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes. Top with reserved crumbs and bake another 20 minutes or until slightly brown.
