GERMAN APPLE KUCHEN 
2 c. sifted flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening or butter
2/3 c. milk
2 eggs

Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together. Cut in shortening. Beat eggs. Add milk and beat again. Blend with flour mixture. Beat well for a few minutes until smooth. Grease a 9x13 cake pan. Spread dough in pan. Top with: 1/3 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Put apple slices in rows over the dough. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mixture. Dot with butter. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Delicious warm.
