SHOO-FLY CAKE (CRUSTLESS) 
4 c. flour
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. old fashioned syrup
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. boiling water

Combine first three ingredients and work into crumbs. Reserve 1 1/2 cups for topping, then add to crumb mixture, the next three ingredients. Mix well. Batter will be thin. Pour into a floured and greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle with remaining crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
